Job Summary:
The Family Nurse Practitioner/Physicians Assistant(PA) administers appropriate on-going acute, chronic, and family practice medical care services in the ambulatory care setting for clinic patients, under the direct supervision of the Clinic Medical Director or other staff physicians.
Works cooperatively with licensed, paraprofessional, administrative, and support staff to ensure the on-going operation of the Clinic. May also, directly supervise healthcare professional and paraprofessional staff including but not limited to handling walk-in patients, physicals, workers compensation, pain management, etc.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, rules, and regulations governing FNP practice in California.
Essential Skills:
• Proficient in conducting medical examinations and making informed clinical decisions.
• Ability to stay current with evolving trends and technologies in healthcare.
• Competent in accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Skilled in educating patients and families about disease management and treatment options.
• Capable of handling emergency situations calmly and effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills for maintaining professional relationships with patients and staff.
• Ability to supervise and train staff, manage workload, and ensure quality patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
• Successful completion of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program.
Experience:
• Minimum of one year of experience in a medical setting, with at least one year in a family practice clinic setting.
Licensure / Certifications / Registrations:
• Current valid California Physician’s Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner license, or an Interim Permit.
• Valid Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within six months.
