Community Update: Future Hospital Planning Meetings

Did you know the District has begun strategic planning meetings to help shape healthcare services for Mariposa County’s future hospital?

The John C. Fremont Healthcare District Board of Directors has begun a series of special strategic planning meetings, led by our contracted architecture firm, Cuningham, focused on the future of healthcare services once a new hospital facility is built.

These discussions focus on what services and programs our community will need in the future, as California seismic regulations require hospitals to meet updated safety standards by 2030.

These meetings are public and open to the community, and we encourage residents to stay informed or attend if interested.

These planning conversations help guide long-term decisions so the future hospital reflects the healthcare needs of our community.

You can view Board Meeting Highlights from the most recent planning session (click here.)

Meeting agendas and notices for upcoming meetings are posted on our website in advance.

The next strategic planning meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 19 at 2:00 PM in the JCFHD Boardroom. Virtual attendance via Microsoft Teams is encouraged due to limited seating capacity.

Thank you for your continued support of rural healthcare.

Here is a short video of our unofficial breaking ground. Soil testing is a requirement by Mariposa County before any construction takes place. This is to ensure the soil is compact and strong enough for any future builds. Soil samples were collected in April 2025 from our front lawn.
