Biography:Vida Vreca-Ponnequin comes to Fremont Family Physicians from Dignity Health Medical Group in Merced and the University of the Pacific Health Center on both the Stockton and Sacramento campuses. She is a graduate of Sonoma State University's Family Nurse Practitioner program in 2015 and is an ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to that she was a Registered Nurse for 10 years at Queen of the Valley Hospital, UC Davis Medical Center, and Sutter Amador Hospital. Vida obtained her 2-year Nursing degree from Pacific Union College in 2005 and proceeded to attain her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with a Psychology minor from Sacramento State University in 2008.
Vida was born in Eureka, California, and graduated from high school in Carmichael at 16 years of age. She was the youngest graduate in her class from American River College. Vida then transferred to UC Davis and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric and Communications while being an active member of the California Aggie Marching Band, Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority and working as a shuttle bus driver at Sacramento International Airport, reporter at UCD's Cal Aggie Newspaper, Media Intern for the Oakland A's. Upon her graduation from UC Davis in 1990, she worked in various administrative positions and industries before embarking on her Nursing career.
Vida lives with her husband, Craig, in Mariposa County and has varied interests including ham radio, horseback riding, student pilot, and animal rescue. Truth be told; however, she enjoys her animal menagerie that includes llamas, alpacas, sheep, cows, horses, goat, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats. She is a member of the Mariposa-Yosemite Rotary Club and was a Job's Daughter as a teenager. Vida is a first-generation American-born Serbian with both parents emigrating from Yugoslavia in the 1950s. She speaks fluent Serbo-Croatian and introductory Sign Language (ASL). She enjoys serving Mariposa County and being a part of its medical community.
Vida's practice consists of adults, women's health, children and geriatrics.
